Our bodies intertwine under our safe blanket

Seeking heat, seeking warmth, seeking closeness, and seeking rest

Ensconced within and protected from the cold and chill and wind

Of a numbed cruel and uncaring world

Filled with fear, suspicion, derision, and hate
