Forever Grateful
A Milestone Age, Lessons Learned & More
I’ve heard people ask others how it feels to reach a milestone age, and they always seem to have some gems of knowledge or words of wisdom to share. I can definitively say that I feel no different today than on other days. I guess the key is not in looking at age in terms of a particular day but in the cumulation of days, weeks, months, years, etc. Because that’s what it is — ‘A Celebration of Life.’
I have heard people say, ‘It’s not the years in your life that count but rather the life in your years.’ This makes perfect sense. You could count your years in days or in life experiences. I choose to celebrate the life in the years.
The prevailing sentiment is gratitude — gratitude to God for life and health and breath and the many opportunities He gives to experience life on this earth.
I hear people say that the ability to experience another birthday is proof that there’s still more for us to do, to experience, to be, to change, to do over, and so on. I think it’s every day, every minute, every hour, and every second. Life has taught me that it literally takes minutes, seconds even, for things to change drastically. Life can turn in a minute.
I am very grateful for friends, family, colleagues, acquaintances, mentors, and many others I have met…
